Arrest Records in Henry County

Ridgeway has no separate police department. Martinsville Police Department serves the independent City of Martinsville, not Henry County, even though many county addresses use Martinsville as their postal city. Virginia FOIA allows in-person, telephone, fax, email, or mail requests, and no special words are required. The ordinary response point is five working days, subject to the lawful options in the statute. Actual search, access, duplication, and redaction costs may apply. A deposit may be required when the estimate exceeds $200, and an old unpaid balance can affect a new request.
Recent Henry County Bookings

Henry County Arrest Custody Routes
The Adult Detention Center at 800 DuPont Road is Henry County's local booking and confinement facility. It opened to inmates in 2022 and has 400 beds across several security levels and work release. Arrest Records vs Conviction Records
A Henry County arrest entry records custody based on alleged conduct or process. A conviction requires a court adjudication of guilt. The prosecutor may refuse or amend a charge, a grand jury may return a different indictment, and a judge or jury may acquit. Even where a conviction follows, the final offense and sentence can differ from the booking line.

Henry County Arrest Record Boundaries
Virginia Code § 2.2-3706 governs access and exclusions for law-enforcement and criminal records. Do not assume the Henry County Sheriff holds a report merely because the arrest or crash occurred inside the county.
