About Henry County Criminal History

Henry County criminal records are divided among the Sheriff, two public court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police Central Criminal Records Exchange, corrections offices, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. This private resource organizes those official routes so readers can tell which office keeps a booking, court order, state history, custody entry, or registry record. It is built around Henry County's unusual border with independent Martinsville and the distinct record counters near the county seat.

Why We Built This Site

Virginia does not keep every part of a criminal matter in one public database. The Henry County Sheriff's Office creates arrest and booking records, while General District Court and Circuit Court keep different stages of the case file. The Virginia Department of State Police manages the Central Criminal Records Exchange and its authorized history-request process. Virginia Department of Corrections custody records and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry are separate again. The site arranges verified portals, request routes, contact details, and access limits by the record's actual custodian.

What You Will Find Here

  • State history requests: how Virginia's SP-167 and fingerprint processes work through the state repository

  • Record relief: where current Virginia expungement and sealing statutes and Henry Circuit Court forms apply

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Virginia court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • It cannot retrieve an official record or conduct an authorized history request
  • It cannot submit a VFOIA request, sealing petition, or expungement filing for a reader
  • It cannot certify a court order, booking sheet, or CCRE response
  • It cannot interpret a charge or give advice about a specific case
  • It cannot guarantee that an agency has not changed a fee, address, hour, or procedure

Only the Henry County Sheriff, the proper court clerk, or the Virginia Department of State Police can issue the record each office maintains.

Search Partners

Outside providers power some search boxes. Each provider controls its own service, results, privacy rules, and price. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. Henry County Criminal History does not control the provider's matches or charges, and those results are not official Henry County or Virginia records.
